February 24, 2020

Owning a boat is a huge responsibility as this is a high-end investment that has to be stored properly and ready for your open-sea adventures whenever you want! Of course, when you have to store items from your house in Miami Beach,  you would call the super-cool guys from Miami Movers and Storage company, but what about the boats? How can you store them appropriately and what does it take? Find out in our small guide where you will learn a lot!

Storing in a rack

Storing in a rack

Using a “dedicated” rack for storing your boat is always a good choice, but this is limited to small boats, not big and luxury yachts in most cases. The rack storage is great for small boats as you will have it secure and protected from the weather inside the small rack that resembles of a trailer. There is always a form of security that will keep your eyes on your boat so you do not have to worry that someone might steal it. The forklifts are used to store and get your boat back, depending on the structure of shack as these might be stored in a box-like order. You simply get a slot for your vehicle and when you want it, they give it to you. However, the biggest drawback of this storage is that you might be limited to one store/retrieval per day.

Keep it in your backyard

If you have a big backyard, there is no need to pay for the rack to any other place to store and keep your yacht. The first big advantage is that you do not pay anything for the storage, but rather your backyard space. After all, it is within the reach of your hand, you can see it every day and no one limits you to using it once per day. However, do keep in mind that you will need a trailer you could tow it and drive it. This can be an additional cost if you do not already own one, but you are not limited in any sense. If you are buying a new boat, you should get it with the trailer so you could tow it.

Paying for space at the dock

This is highly recommended if you own a big boat or luxury yacht that cannot be towed easily and transported. In this case, paying for a spot at the local marina is not going to be a problem for you, as you could afford yourself to buy such a vehicle. The average cost can be anywhere from $1500 to $2500, depending on the spot as well as the marina and state you live in. However, this is the safest solution for big vehicles and we highly recommend this method if you have a big boast. Also, no one will limit you with the number of parking times or sailing time, so you can park and go whenever you want!
